Petzl - Bug Backpack

The Petzl BUG is an 18-litre backpack designed for single-day multi-pitch climbing, with enough capacity for approach shoes, water, food, a light layer, topo and small climbing essentials. Its low-profile shape sits close to the back, helping maintain movement on route, while the top-opening design makes it easier to access kit when the pack is clipped in at a stance.

The BUG works well as a compact climbing pack, but it is also practical enough for everyday use. It includes side compression straps, a top rope attachment strap, a removable helmet holder, a padded internal sleeve for a hydration system or laptop, and small internal pockets for valuables. The removable waistbelt is useful on the walk-in when you want more support, but can be stripped off for climbing, so there is less bulk around your harness. 18 litres is ideal for fast multi-pitch days, but it might feel tight for bulkier crag loads or winter layers.
