Mammut - 8.0 Alpine Dry

The 8.0 Alpine Dry is an incredibly versatile half rope able to cope with wandering trad routes, mountaineering, and ice climbing.

It is part of Mammut's overhauled rope range and is BLUESIGN certified demonstrating its strong eco-credentials, the Alpine Dry is based on the popular Mammut 8mm Phoneix.

The skinny diameter and light weight combine to make them lovely ropes to handle and climb with. Though care should be taken to use an appropriate belay device, most common grooved models work well e.g. Petzl Reverso, Black Diamond ATC, DMM Pivot.

The DRY version has the core and sheath treated to massively improve durability and prevent dirt and water ingress making them ideal, lightweight Alpine ropes. If you're aren't as worried about durability and don't intend to use your ropes in alpine conditions, you could save some pennies with the classic version.
