The Grivel Master Pro Belayer is a more versatile version of the standard Master Belayer, built for climbers who want a lightweight guide-mode plate as well as a normal belay and abseil device. At 85 g, it is still compact on the rack, but adds the functionality needed for multi-pitch climbing, belaying seconds directly from an anchor, and general rope management.
The Master Pro uses shaped braking geometry for smooth rope flow and consistent control, with extra friction slots for better braking control when lowering or abseiling. The guide-mode attachment point allows it to be used as a self-locking plate for belaying one or two seconds, while Integrated horns provide increased braking with thinner ropes and allow assisted release under load.
Side apertures reduce weight and help dissipate heat during longer descents. It is slightly heavier and more involved than the standard Master Belayer, but the guide-mode function makes it a much better choice for multi-pitch and trad climbing.
