DMM - Phantom Wire Quickdraw

The DMM Phantom Wire Quickdraw is a lightweight wiregate quickdraw for trad, alpine and winter climbing. It uses two Phantom Wire carabiners mounted on a Dynatec Dyneema sling, with contrasting carabiner colours to help separate the rope and gear ends. The standard 12, 18 and 25 cm versions use an 11 mm Dynatec sling, while the 60 cm alpine version uses a narrower 8 mm Dynatec sling for full extension on wandering pitches.

The Phantom Wire is built around low weight and simple handling. The wiregate carabiners help keep rack weight down and are less prone to freezing than solid gates, which makes them well suited to winter and alpine use. The small gate notch reduces snagging compared with older wiregate designs, while the I-Beam body keeps the carabiner light without making it feel overly tiny in the hand.

For most trad racks, the 12, 18 and 25 cm versions work well as lightweight everyday quickdraws. The 60 cm alpine version is a great option to supplement a set of regular draws: rack it short, then extend it to reduce rope drag on wandering trad pitches, alpine routes and mixed terrain.
