Climbers' Club - Llanberis
The Climbers’ Club Llanberis brings Dyffryn Peris, Clogwyn
Du’r Arddu and Y Lliwedd together in one guidebook for the first time, weaving
115 years of local guidebook history into an updated coverage of three of North
Wales’ most important climbing areas. Written by Calum Muskett, it documents
1,645 climbs across the roadside crags and boulders of Llanberis Pass, the
extensive cliffs of Cloggy and the longer adventures found on Y Lliwedd.
Each route has been carefully checked and presented with
clear colour photo topos, mapping, action photography and relevant
environmental access information. Mapping, design and layout by Don Sargeant
are complemented by artwork from Tessa Lyons, while the broad spread of grades
makes the guide useful for planning a first visit, exploring quieter crags or
working through the area’s established classics and test-pieces. At 480 pages
and approximately 800 g, it is a substantial guide to some of Wales’ most
iconic climbs. Its coverage is focused on Dyffryn Peris, Clogwyn Du’r Arddu and
Y Lliwedd, so a separate guide is required for the Llanberis slate quarries.
