Blue Ice - Firecrest 28L Pack

The Blue Ice Firecrest 28L is a lightweight alpine pack for fast mountain days, winter mountaineering, ski touring and summer climbing. It has enough space for layers, food, water, hardware and lighter seasonal kit, while keeping a compact shape for moving efficiently on technical ground. The 210D nylon fabric is PFC-free and bluesign approved, giving a useful balance of low weight, durability and lower-impact material sourcing.

The Firecrest is built around fast access and efficient transitions. The side zip makes it easier to reach kit without fully unpacking the bag, while the 2 litre zipped lid pocket, internal pocket and stretch side pocket keep smaller items close to hand. The hybrid carry system, padded waistbelt and two available back lengths help provide some stability when carrying climbing or ski touring kit.

It is also well set up for mixed-season mountain use. Dual ice axe holders cover winter tools, while the A-frame and diagonal ski carry give options for ski touring approaches. The removable avalanche tools pocket can be kept in for ski days and stripped out for climbing or summer mountain use, and the pack is compatible with hydration bladders and Blue Ice helmet holder systems.

The 28 litre capacity is useful for lighter alpine days and compact ski touring setups, but it will feel tight for bulky winter layers, larger racks or longer days where the 38L version gives more space.
