The Black Diamond HotWire Quickdraw is a lightweight wiregate quickdraw built for sport, trad and general crag use. It uses two updated hot-forged HotWire carabiners, with a coloured lower carabiner to clearly mark the rope end when clipping. The draw is finished with an 18 mm polyester dogbone and a Straitjacket insert, keeping the lower carabiner held in the correct orientation.
The HotWire sits as a lighter, more versatile option than a full solid-gate sport draw. The dual wiregates help reduce weight, while the larger rope-bearing surface improves durability for both the carabiner and rope. The wiregate design is light and practical, but it is not as clean to unclip from bolts as a keylock solid-gate carabiner.
