Beal - 8.5mm Opera Unicore - Dry Cover
Recently rated as one of the best half ropes in a UKC group review these are lovely ropes to handle from the start. They are very soft and supple but still give a good grip in a belay plate.
At 8.5mm this is a thicker half rope but a thinner triple-rated rope. This has Beal's Dry cover treatment which means that the sheath is treated and helps to prevent water and dirt ingress that helps to extend the life of the rope and is ideal for Alpine conditions.
Triple rated ropes are very versatile as they can be used as Single, Half or Twin ropes, ideal for a trip to Chamonix where you can only fit one rope in your bag.
This has Beal's unicore technology which is great for durability. This is especially useful as this has a relatively low sheath percentage at 39%.
The 100m rope is only available in bicolour green where the first 50m is a different pattern than the next 50m. Great for using as a doubled-up half rope or for making it more obvious where the middle of the rope is.
